The HRAI Eduspire Awards
The Eduspire Awards are a distinguished honour within the HR Distinction Awards (HRDA), conferred by HR Association India (HRAI). They recognise industry professionals who go beyond their organisational roles to strengthen education in India’s schools, colleges and universities, through research, guest teaching, mentoring, curriculum input, capability-building visits and active support for HRAI’s education initiatives.
About the Eduspire Awards
India produces millions of graduates every year, yet employers consistently point to a gap between what students learn and what the workplace needs. India’s education policy now recognises this directly: the National Education Policy 2020 promotes internships with local industry, and the University Grants Commission has asked universities to build sustainable university–industry linkages, including industry relation cells and professors of practice (Careers360, on UGC guidelines).
Industry professionals are uniquely placed to close this gap. They bring live case studies, current skills, career insight and professional networks that textbooks cannot. Many already do this work quietly. They take guest lectures, mentor students, guide research and help institutions update their programmes, often voluntarily and usually unrecognised. As part of the HR Distinction Awards, the Eduspire Awards make this contribution visible and encourage more professionals to follow their example.
The name: Eduspire combines Education and Inspire. It describes professionals whose work beyond their day job inspires learners, educators and institutions.
How Eduspire Awardees Are Identified
The Eduspire Awards are not open for applications or nominations. HRAI actively identifies deserving professionals through its national network of 80,000+ HR professionals, its partnerships with schools and universities, and its own education initiatives.
When HRAI finds a professional whose contribution to education is genuine, sustained and impactful, it confers the Eduspire Award on them. The awards are presented at HRAI events throughout the year, so each awardee is honoured in front of peers, industry leaders and the academic community.

What an Eduspire Contribution Looks Like
(An illustrative profile, not a real awardee.)
A supply-chain head at a manufacturing company spends three years working with two engineering colleges near her plant. She helps revise the operations management elective with current industry case studies, arranges live-project internships for final-year students, and runs a regular faculty workshop on lean practices. Her work changes what students learn, how faculty teach and how ready graduates are for industry. That combination of depth, continuity and real impact is what the Eduspire Award honours.
